New Location for Special Collections

We have finished some rearranging and shifting of the adult fiction area.  At the beginning of the fiction section you will now find the ESL, foreign language fiction, and the adult graphic novel collections.  The large print collection has been spaced so it is easier to find items.

Seeking Teen Volunteers for the Summer

Will you be entering 9th grade or above in the fall? Do you like kids and reading? The Children’s Department is currently seeking teen volunteers to help for our Summer Reading Program, One World, Many Stories. Interested volunteers are asked to commit to two or more hours per week doing a variety of tasks. This is a great opportunity to earn service hours for your school or community organization while you have free time during the summer! Applications are available in the library or online here; please check out the application for more information and return completed applications to the Children’s Desk.

Friday movies

It wasn't our swan song (pun intended, Natalie Portman), so a good time was had by all at the final Friday movie of the season. Thanks to all of you who attended and made it fun to keep showing movies and a big thanks to all of our volunteers who helped with all the behind the scenes, dirty work that made these Fridays such a success.

Don't forget about our Tuesday Afternoon Classics, either. This week we're showing Glory, starring a young Denzel Washington and Matthew Broderick. The movie starts at 3:30 p.m. Snacks and refreshments provided.
