On Sunday, July 3rd, the library parking lot will be closed for resurfacing. There will be no access to the Veterans Memorial Garden or library book return bins via the parking lot that day. The parking lot and library access road will reopen when work is completed. The library will reopen at 9:00 am on Tuesday, July 5th following the Independence Day holiday.

High school and College students, we're looking for some enthusiastic and reliable volunteers to help at one or more of our many Youth Services Department programs this summer. Interested? Fill out an application (both sides of form, please) and return it to the Youth Services Desk. Keep the left side for information! Our volunteer coordinator will contact you with additional details. Pick up your application at the library or download it here: Summer 2016 Volunteer Application.

Thanks to everyone who participated in our annual Food for Fines program, benefiting families in need in Southeastern Michigan. We collected 1,398 pounds of food and forgave over $2,000 in fines. We are truly grateful for your support and glad to see so many people able to use the library again! The food items we collected went to Gleaners Community Food Bank and St. Mary's Outreach Center.

We are happy to announce a new and improved events calendar system called Evanced. This system will allow you to view events from all departments on one calendar, to register for library programs online, or to receive email or text notifications of upcoming events. You can check out the new calendar here or access it from the Events, Kids, and Teen menus above.
If you have any questions about our new calendar system, please speak to library staff at the Reference or Youth Services desk. Thanks to the Friends of the Library for their support!
