Michigan Libraries for Life

This week the library is participating in a statewide effort to help our patrons register to become organ donors. More than 3,500 very sick Michigan residents are waiting today for organ transplants and a new shot at life. Thousands of others need tissue to relieve their pain, heal their wounds and help them see again. You have the power to help them. If you don’t already have a red heart emblem on your license or ID, please register as a donor today. Just visit http://www.giftoflifemichigan.org/become-donor/

Highlighting Local History

Before the city of Westland was incorporated in 1966, the area was known as Nankin Township. Drop by the library to view two displays currently highlighting our local history: a display about Michigan Historical Markers provided by the Westland Historical Village Park and a display about Nankin Township history provided by the Nankin Mills Interpretive Center. On Wednesday, October 25 at 7:00 pm, please join us as we welcome Carol Clements, Manager of the Nankin Mills Interpretive Center for the presentation: "Four Eras of History at Nankin Mills."
